Northview Retreat - Overlook Wedding Barn Discount

The location is great for what we needed (skiing at Beech Mtn), but the property itself is in need of repair and maintenance.

The unit is heated by two electric wall heaters that are located in each bedroom. There are no heaters anywhere else, which means the bedrooms get hot while the rest of the unit is cool. Both heaters are obnoxiously loud when they kick on and interrupted everyone's sleep during our stay. Only one heater had a control knob, the second heater's control knob was missing.

There is a water leak in the ceiling above the toilet in the master bathroom; water would drip below onto the person using the toilet. In the other bathroom, part of the popcorn ceiling fell onto a pile of clean clothes while the shower was being used. There is evidence of water issues throughout the unit as there are multiple locations of water spots on the ceiling and pieces of missing popcorn ceiling throughout.

We could hear what seemed to be a chewing sound from a mouse or rodent during the night. At one point I went to investigate and the sound would stop as I walked toward where it was coming from, presumably because the creature detected my foot steps. If I remained still for a short amount of time the chewing sound would start again. The sound came from behind the dresser in the master bedroom, but no creature was ever spotted. I believe the animal was located inside the wall behind the dresser.

The pool and hot tub appeared clean, although the hot tub was much too small for the number of people trying to use it.

Perfect for our family of 6! Close to the pool and all the amenities!

Loved it, nice amenities, & fun stuff for the kids to do nearby. Would definitely stay there again!
